I have registered googlecasts.com and annuation.com. I hope to develop both domains by mid next year. What do you guys think?

Google always goes after their TM. I had a name and was contacted by the legal dept.

GoOgleCasts.com

I own www.GoOgleThis.com and www.GoOgleThat.com and suggest you use your domain as GoOgleCasts.com (as in 'go stare at the (pod or video) casts)...in the text on the site as well as the domain name treatment in text.

Excuse the shape of my sites. I got them via www.1and1.com a couple of years ago when they gave away free sites for a year, with a domain name. Renewals are $5.88 a year with the name. I got there and wanted to test the wysiwyg web editor (it sucks) and figured on the names, GoLookAtThis and GoLookAtThat and "Ogle" came up as a thesauras alternative to look <intently>.

Without TM issues, GoOgleCasts.com worth perhaps mid-xxx for right retail buyer.

Thanks guys for your advice. It appears all (including guys at DNF and a trademark consultant) agree. I'm off to godaddy to deregister googlecasts.com. Thanks keith for your very constructive advice. Will consider it. But perhaps we should look afresh at these TM issues. If not checked, we may have a few mega cooporations owning almost anything. To me, I think this stiflles competition and creativity and encourages monopoly and arm-twisting tactics. See, I have surrendered even before google comes after me? This in itself speaks volumes as to the future of domains business. Thanks.
