Google puts new gadgets in browser

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Online search engine Google introduced several new gadgets in its popular toolbar for Web browsers, hoping to build even greater brand loyalty amid heightened competition.

The new software out Thursday for the toolbar includes a feature that automatically blocks pop-up ads, as well a program that automatically fills out Internet forms seeking a customer's name and address.

The function that fills in forms offers an option to store credit card numbers too, but the information is encrypted on the hard drive of a user's computer instead of Google's computers, for security and privacy reasons.

That sounds cool although I never use automatic form fillers and that stuff. I like to store that stuff in my brain.

I think the automatic form filler that they are talking about is a program that does it without you even knowing, that it's been done, kind of like a spy-ware program. So the new google toolbar will block that from happening.

I hate those automatic form fillers. A long time ago, a young naive darkdevil used gator. It all worked out fine, but when the day came for the two to seperate gator stole all of darkdevils passwords without reminding darkdevil what they were. Darkdevil had to start his whole internet life all over again.

Gator should be banned from the internet. You would think that after all the law suits filed against them that they would give up.

I wish there was a feature in microsoft that banned certain programs from ever being installed. That way i could add things like Gator, all programs with spyware known to man, yahoo messanger, etc..

Heh, speaking of YIM (yahoo instant messanger), my sister installed it during the last week of me using the family computer... and the thing i hated the most about it was that it actually said when exiting the computer "are you sure you want to exit this very usefull program" or something like that.. i hated it... Dark that's a good idea. Maybe you should create a program which does that.

I installed the google toolbar and I have to admit, the built in pop up stopper is awesome, it blocks every single pop up that is on websites unless u specify for it to let pop ups appear on the pages u surf. It doesn't really change the features of IE that much other than you have an automatic search engine already on the tool bar, so no need to go to google.com each time you want to do a search for things you want. Anyway, the google toolbar is cool so check it out. :)
