Google waited a few weeks into 2013 to issue its first Panda refresh of the year, but the update has arrived, according to a Tweet posted by Google. The Panda algorithm sweeps through web content in an effort to present the best possible search results to users, getting rid of dicey, low-grade content. The new update will affect 1.2 percent of English queries, reported Google.

Nice New year present from Google. xD

There is one site, a blog with zero content has survived all these updates. So Google need to do lots of refreshes.

The previous Panda update was on December 21st, 2012. It was then that one of my sites lost its positions on medium competition keyword and 1 high competition keyword. Now, the positions get back to their pre-update levels.

What a business model. Like shooting fish in a barrel.

This is a good news to the users. I am pretty sure that a lot of internet marketers who used automation to get content suffered greatly on this Google Panda update. I see that few of my website's ranking is better than before so I must say that it favors honest webmasters.

Thanks for the awareness, never thought that there was google update in 2013 yet, thanks for sharing. Well, to recover from update, before doing anything, you need to diagnose the reason for your siteโ€™s ranking and traffic drop.*
