its a googlish facebook anyone can invite me to it to give it a try please

Google has tried several times, without much success, to take on Facebook and master social networking. Now it is making its biggest effort yet.

On Tuesday, Google introduced a social networking service called the Google+ project — which happens to look a lot like Facebook. The service, which is initially available to a select group of Google users who will soon be able to invite others, will let people share and discuss status updates, photos and links, much as they do on Facebook.

But the Google+ project will be different in one significant way, which Google hopes will be enough to convince people to use yet another social network.

It is meant for sharing with groups — like colleagues, roommates or hiking friends — not with all of one’s friends or the entire Web. It also offers group text messaging and video chat.

Google+ won't take off and I sent them a long email explaining why it won't.

There are some very smart people that work at Google and there are some that really don't seem to grasp even the most basic things.

Looks promising but yet they are facing Facebook won't be that easy, hope it turns out well and there will be something new to play with. Anybody here using Google Wave?

I'm going to predict this will actually take off, Google+.

I have read people are bagging it out straight away but from what Ive seen it looks pretty good, and being "invite only" beta ATM is creating a buzz from people wanting to join. I personally like the video/skype type
setup and how it fits with everything else.

I have been a Google critic over many things but i think they are on the right track with this, personally i find facebook very boring and the games dont interest me in the slightest, although i expect Google will add games and other stuff down the track.

Im tipping WIN on this, and i also tip it will take off faster than many expect, if i was facebook i would be worried.

BTW, theres a rep in it for anyone who sends me an invite.:hehe:

I think the easiest way for Google to make Google+ successful is to have it be a niche like Twitter. Because Facebook and Twitter are different social networking sites obviously. Google+ looks awesome though from what I've seen...well thought out user interface.

You won't get in atm...probably melted down the servers with demand.

Google+ will take a rather large dump on facebook. If you have been in and seen it, you will understand why. Google simply has too many gadgets and tools to throw at this and a large number of facebook users are over the garbage that facebook adds, lets go, ruins.

As for invites - no use asking atm; you simply won't get in. I think G has simply been overwhelmed at the response and have, for the time being, stopped admitting people.

It is pretty cool though.

The easiest way to get in when/if they open it back up for more, is to simply send your email to someone that is already in and asked them to invite you via an email - you don't need special invites. I got around 60-70 people in on another forum where I was doign some business.

I think Google +1 will catch up people's imagination soon. But It will take long to catch up with facebook. Personally, I like +1(being a member) as it has great privacy features.
