Google is down

AdSense is down, Gmail is down, and the Google search engine is down.

Very interesting. Any speculations as to what's going on?

see, i am in the low double cents right now, with impressions off by 30-50,000 and earnings off by 10-15.00, for the day, something is going wrong at google this week

I just came across this thread and saw Google was down for other people too. I was trying to fix my internet connection, slapping my computer around and everything thinking it was on my end.

Ya, it was down for me for a little while yesterday. The first time I have ever experienced something like this. I wonder what happened, because Google has multiple datacenters in different parts of the world, and tons of servers, so it just wasn't a server outage. The only thing I can think of, is a system wide update to their servers, or something. Maybe something like a new algoitheorm. Anyone else have any ideas?

I just saw on CNET the following. Not sure if it is true or not, but it is what Google is saying.

Google's Web site was inaccessible for a brief time Saturday and some visitors reported being rerouted to another site, leading some to believe that the search giant had been hacked.

The site was down from 3:45 to 4 p.m. PST, Google spokesman David Krane told The Associated Press.

"It was not a hacking or a security issue," Krane. He said the problem was related to the DNS (Domain Name System), which routes one's Internet protocol address to the appropriate Web site that the user wants to visit. If the DNS system goes down, Web pages requested usually do not appear or take a long time to load.

"Google's global properties were unavailable for a short period of time," Krane said. "We've remedied the problem and access to Google has been restored worldwide."

Rumors that the site was hacked began when visitors were reportedly rerouted to SoGoSearch.com.

I'm aware of that. Thought it was my ISP problems. This shows that even a major websites can be hacked. Those hackers sure is something.

Saturday Google outage

Cost me a few bucks when AdSense down for some hours on Saturday.
