Google AdSense for domains question

folks,

to display Google Adsense for domains, do i need to host my domain someware? because i want to do the following to display google ads in my domain.

Creating a CNAME record:

1. Sign in to your account at Domain Names, Web Hosting and SSL Certificates - Go Daddy.
2. Open the Domains tab and select My Domains.
3. Click the Advanced Details link for the domain that you'd like to use with AdSense for domains.
4. In the Total DNS area, click Total DNS Control.
5. If there is a row in the CNAMES (Aliases) section with 'www' in the Host column click the edit icon in the Actions column for that row and then click OK. Otherwise, click Add New CNAME Record.
6. Step 1: In the "Enter an Alias Name" field, enter 'www'.
Step 2: In the "Points to Host Name" field, enter 'pub-xxxxxxxxxx.afd.ghs.google.com'(where pub-xxxxxxxxx is your unique publisher ID number listed at the top of your account).
Step 3: Leave the default value in the "TTL" field.
7. Click OK. If you clicked Add New CNAME Record in step 5, you should now see "New record successfully created" and click OK.

u want to use Adsense for domains ..
well .. how u mean do u need to host your domain somewhere ..

i use Adsense fo domains on mngo(dot)net ... i made all that steps u mention 1-7 + added A-record (from google).. and that was all ..

No you dont need to have your domains hosted to use Google adsense for domains. Do what is above in your godaddy account it works.

btw, i am confused a little,
the exact step described by google is not seen in godaddy.
currently i am in my account > domain manager > and clicked my domain.
now i dont see anything that tells create a cname

if u clicked ur domain .. then on the page that opened ..
u have in the middle center .. Nameservers Total DNS TLD Specific
so below Total DNS u have link Total DNS Control ... click there m8 ..

after that ...
in Cnames .. where is allias "www" leave www and change only points to pub-xxxxxxxxxx.afd.ghs.google.com'(where pub-xxxxxxxxx is your unique publisher ID number listed at the top of your account).

and in A-records delete what u have .. and put Host "@" and points to IP addresses (they are 4 IP`s) that u have from google ..

u must back Nameservers to Godaddy Nameservers ..
go to Set Nameservers .. and change them to:

ns01.domaincontrol.com
ns02.domaincontrol.com

btw you will must to w8 maybe 24h for changes to take place ..

i added 3 domains. one instantly got approved and showing google ads.
but other two still shows :

but godaddy shows :
