Good HTML Book?

Someone asked me if I knew of any good HTML books that would cover the basics all the way to the advanced topics in tutorial type forum. I told them I'd check on it. Do you guys reccomend any?

I like Sams Learn HTML/XHTML in 24 hours. It will cover a good bit of information. You may not know everything, but you'll have a great foundation.

Start at www.dtp-aus.com and there's ton of internet tutorials that will cover everything on the way up from that.

You generally don't have books that cover everything from the basics to the advanced. You'll probably need at least 2 books if you go that way.

Well, while looking for a book for him. I got interested myself. I picked up a book called HTML For the World Wide Web by Elizabeth Castro (5th Edition) and I'm already on page 170. I'm writing a CSS page right now. This is fun :P I highly reccomend this book. It covers CSS, HTML, and XHTML. And it is structured VERY well and has as much browser info as you could possibly think of. The author, Elizabeth, tells you what can and cannot be used in each browser (including Netscape, Opera, IE 6, IE 5, Netscape Communicator 4, etc...) It's pretty cool.

I actually picked up a book at some book store called HTML for Dummies, helped me out pretty well, LoL.

The Dummies series are excellent - I also have Webmastering for Dummies and it is superb - helps you project manage your site from concept to implementation and then helps you keep it running - a must have if you have to manage a big site

I like Sams book as well, they are great for beginners (very easy to understand) but once you get a hang of the subject, you will think that the book is not too useful.

Some people can focus and learn better with books or maybe its just me, but I learned HTML on the internet through various sites. I think HTML is easy enough to learn off the internet without spending money on a book. The internet covers so much more information too.

I strongly recommend the For Dummies series. I learnt HTML and XHTML from web-based tutorials, however, so I don't know. I have heard good things bout the For Dummies series. It taught me how to assemble a pc, how to do java programming and how to use Linux.

I learnt XML from the Dummies series and it's great! I also bought this 3000 page book on just HTML, Perl, and CGI... It's great, now I code very little, but I know enough in Perl and CGI
