Good credit card processor

Any recommandations for a good credit card processor that processes payments on your behalf (does not require having your own merchant account) ?

I have had a 2checkout.com account for many years however I'm looking for something more flexible.
I am looking for a processor that offers API access so I can integrate payment routines within my sites (like Paypal).
I am processing credit cards in $ (USD) but euros would be a plus.

How about Google Checkout? Another option is Alertpay but I haven't used them so can't say how accurate and reliable these are.

If you want to look into a more professional payment processor have a look at Card Service Sales. I believe they are subsidary of FirstData which is pretty big processing company. I've heard the good and the bad about 2checkout.com, although it seems more prefered than paypal to the business's, but of course in North America the consumer prefers PayPal (sad but true). If you want a good read on cost effective payment processing I found a pretty good Forbes Article.
