Hi, what do you think about this domain? Vinyls are more and more popular again, is there any future in this types of domains? Thanks a lot.

You will just need luck to find an interested party, and once you do, negotiate what you can get, but they won't overpay. The name is fine but there is no strong value case.

Good luck anyway!

As a former DJ I like anything to do with Vinyl! :)

That being said, I'm not really sure what the end use of this domain would be?

More importantly, although I'm not sure if the plural of vinyl is technically "vinyls", but I do know that as a DJ who used vinyl back in the day, we usually simply said "vinyl" when talking about multiple vinyl records.

Also, despite the growth in records over the last few years, the market still remains a tiny fraction of what it used to be. More importantly while it is possible there was a market for gold vinyl back in the day (I'm not aware of it though), I think it's safe to say that there is no market for gold pressed records today (Unless we're sending another Voyager Probe into deep space).

The similar 2 terms that would make more sense would be:

1. "GoldenAgeVinyl" - (GoldenAgeRecords would be even better IMO). Because even if the domain would be longer, it would contain "GoldenAge" which is a known term (although not used much anymore, so it wouldn't be worth all that much more anyways).

2. "GoldRecord(s)" - Which refers to records that sold over a certain number of records. I'm not sure of the specific numbers, but I'll make up the numbers to give a clear example. Back in the 80's it was said a Record would be "gold" after it sold 100,000 copies. Then if it sold 200,000 it would be "Double gold". Then after 1,000,000 it would be "Platinum", etc. But those terms were always used with the term "Record" or "Album" or "Single" .. I never saw it used with the word "Vinyl" I'm sorry to say.

The domain is worth it's weight in gold .. but unfortunately since domains are digital it's not really worth anything I'm sorry to say ...

Good luck with is anyways .. let me know what you do with it .. as a former DJ I'm a bit curious! :)

If this is your first domain you are on the right track, both words are related, it is a growing (I think) niche market.
