Hi there,

Has anyone managed to get any names from go daddy? Also, have they started taking normal regs for .eu's and have people received any refunds yet?

Thanks

I hand-bought 3 .eu's from GoDaddy yesterday and there were no problems and they now resolve.

All my 10 pre-regs still have Pending Application

Does that make any sense to anyone at all? You would think a pre-registered domain would get priority on processing the order no???

Absolutely PATHETIC!!!

I just noticed this on top of the GoDaddy site.

BobParsons.com
Stupid European Tricks.
The .EU landrush fiasco.
Europe gets its very own domain name highjacked!

Here is the link to Mr. Parson's blog if anybody is interested in hearing what he has to say.

He also comments on the GoDaddy refunds, in reply to a post left by a reader.

I have emailed support today to request the refund of money taken for names showing as available which infact were already taken. The others in pending that had been refused .... I will just have to wait and see in June. Not that I hold up much hope :td:

Back to .com :)

**copied from another post I made in a different thread**

After finding some of my new regs are still in pending and will be til June I found the best way to check names is by the eurid whois. It will say if the name is in a pending state to be re-released in June or if it is really available NOW

Lame Reply By Godaddy

Hi all - I just received an email from Godaddy regarding my request for a full refund.

I had previously explained that the domains now showing they are taken if I check on the GoDaddy site & that eurids whois shows them as taken also.

This is GoDaddy's Lame reply for my request for a full refund.

"Thank you for contacting customer service. Your domains still appear to
be in a pending status. If we are unable to register them, they will be
refunded."

I can only assume they are doing this to make lots of interest of our money as previously suspected :td:

I've sent a reply so I will let you know what happens :)

Did anyone else receive a Full Refund yet ???

It's amazing that Bob Parsons would speak out so publically against the .eu registry and the corrupted process. I'm not saying he's wrong about anything he said; I just think it takes some big ones to put yourself out there with all these criticisms when your own company screwed the pooch on this so badly as well.

The title of his article on his blog is...

"The .EU landrush fiasco. A bumbling registry allows Europe's very own domain name to be highjacked!"

Ok Bob, I won't disagree with that article, but now how about writing another article titled something like this...

"The GODADDY .EU landrush fiasco. A bumbling REGISTRAR allows all it's customers submitted domains to go unprocessed."

I have just received this email from gd

Thank you for contacting customer support.

As the land rush period has started and the registry is very active please allow 3-5 business days for the registrations to fail. When this occurs you will be automatically refunded.

Regards,
Todd P.

They're confident in the quality of their service, then!
