Has anyone managed to get any names from go daddy? Also, have they started taking normal regs for .eu's and have people received any refunds yet?

i want to reg a .eu name at go daddy (only because it is cheap and i can use promo codes...oh....and they still have over $500 of mine...). Has anyone managed to get one by hand picking?

tried regging 3 domains i knew were free and not reg'd 6 hours ago via Godaddy and they are still showing

Pre-Registration Period - Public

So, obviously they can not be bloody bothered and lazy as hell, i gave them another chance and they blew it. I am now going to have to register these 3 names somehwere else and get a refund of Godaddy before i loose the names.

Should of learnt my lesson with my .eu's i had via the sunrise time i had with them.

I spoke with a rep today at GD about an unrelated issue but asked if they were getting a lot of flak about the .eu pre-regs. The rep told me they were. I told her that I have heard a lot of people didn't get a single pre-reg from GD. I asked what the problem was and the rep said it was something GD was looking into but that she has heard GD was screwed by the registry. Is just passing the buck or GD was actually screwed by the registry? Feel free to make up your own mind.

GoDaddy will say registry, registry will say GoDaddy. In the end it's probably both their faults - they're both equally crap.

So glad I didn't get caught up in this whole .eu thing! .com is the place for me

I've just emailed them to ask for a full refund as they charged me a couple of hundred even though the names were probably gone when I placed the order.

5 of the names are still showing pending in my account even though I have checked them and they are already gone.

Has anyone received a FULL refund from them yet ??

nope. all of my names are saying pending aswell. No comment from go daddy yet. No refund and no notification. It gets worse by the day

I don't understand how you me and probably thousands of others can have .eu in our account showing PENDING considering if you go to the GoDaddy website and try and reg one of those same names it will tell you it is TAKEN ????

I suspect they will drag their feet when it comes to refunding everyone - and make a pretty profit in interest at the same time. I know if they try and charge me ANYTHING AT ALL I will be really P***** off. :yell:

I'll let you know if they have the decency to reply to my email requesting a full refund.

GD did manage to reg a couple of .EU domains for me. So regarding this issue i'm kind of an acception here.

Although i am still in the dark regarding refunds of the domains that didn't come through.
Also regarding the Pre-Registration Period - Public issue, this is a mix of possibilties since it can be either already registered or truly pending.

If someone gets a refund please tell us immediately so all of us can take action.
Their billing department is going to get a lot of refunds requests i presume.

So where is a "good" place to reg an .eu name? I've got a list I want to try, but haven't anywhere yet. Suggestions?

spacereg.com are the only one i know but they aren't cheap at $23.50 a domain

You could also try www.telivo.com I have reg about 6 with them since April 7 - all but one have gone straight through and I can manage them also my details show up in the whois for them.

They charge about £10 + vat

Please Note: I have never used this company before but it was mentioned by someone here at NPros in the last couple of days.

They appear to be based in UK - I don't know enough of them to say if they are good or bad either way.
