I had suspected this had happenned before, but I thought that perhaps the nameservers had not changed in the first place. I now know for sure that Godaddy on occasion changes the nameservers from Sedo or Parked, back to their own nameservers. This just happenned on a name that I moved to Sedo a week ago. It was pointed towards Sedo for 3 days and then stopped getting traffic. IF it did not make money everyday I may have taken longer to notice, but it seems they now point to Godaddy Cashparking without my request or a confirmation email to tell me that the nameservers have been changed. If I did not have Cashparking set up and checked every so often to see which names were pointing to GD, it would be very difficult to tell which names had been switched back.

Be careful all of those who use Godaddy.

did the nameservers actually change in your account, or is this just a propagation issue?

I have had the same thing happen at godaddy for names that had been parked for months, name serves glitching back to godaddy name servers. If I had had a website, imagine how that would look? It would be horrible!

I just blogged about this. Huge deal, IMO. Trying to do some digging!

Godaddy is not the only registrar doing this shit. Own accreditation is a way to go.

Sometimes when the name is awaiting renewal after expiry date some registras automatically go to their parking page.

True mellowmasher, just incase someone else reading got the wrong idea

My glitches happened in the prime of registration, I don't watch my domains very often, it was just an of chance I saw it, i would be most concerned about websites if this happened even though mine are parked

To answer the first question. No I have not emailed GD about it. I really like the GD response time and the fact that English seems to be the first language of all of their employees. However, I have been getting a lot of wrong answers from them recently. Answers that I know are not true, but maybe they just don't want to deal with the question, so they answer it with the most likely answer and don't really pay any attention.

The names that this happen to me on normally, happen not long after I own them. As I mentioned in the first post, I was actually thinking that they had not changed over in the first place. Because of the daily eanrings of this name, I know exactly how long I had it. I bought it from TDNam. Had it in my GD account for 1 full day before moving it to Sedo and got 1 day of stats at GD CashParking. Then moved it to Sedo for approx. 3 days and got stats there each day. Then it started to get stats at GD Cashparking again. It spent the last 2-3 days there, before I realized and changed it back to Sedo.

The nameservers at GD should say CPNS01.SECURESERVER.NET and CPNS02.SECURESERVER.NET (They have different nameservers for default hosting than for parking). The biggest problem is that GD does not tell you where the nameservers are when you look at the list of names in manage names. You actually have to click on each name indiviually. I get around this with GD Cashparking (It is free with my Discount Domain Club, I would not pay them for it). I check the Cashparking account every so often, and see what names are getting visitors from the last few days, if any. The ones that do, I know either the nameservers did not change or have changed back to GD. I do have 2 names that I leave at GD intentionally, everything else I try to move.
