GoDaddy sucks

I recently backordered 2 domains with godaddy. I tried logging into my account and was not able to login. So i sent a mail to those guyz at customer care, they replied that they have blocked my account due to suspected fraud. They dint even sent a reply regarding this and have replied only after i mailed THEM!.

I replied back, how dare they block me, by using all the world's best known bad words. They replied back that the billing address is not correct and My ip is blocked. I used the billing address: new no.23, S**** Lane, then my city and country as India.
But my credit card billing was: 23, 1st Floor, S**** Lane, chennai, india. LOL, they claim that both are differrent. And i also sent that my ip is valid. They replied back that our entire ip bock is blocked and i need to contact my isp or i need to provide a valid government issued proof to proove that my Credit card is valid.

I sent a mail back, WTF should i provide them proof and iam the buyer and they are not a monopoly to ask customers all sorts of proof and demanded them to issue a refund.

But they have stopped replying me. I asked my Credit card company to take action against them and issue a charge back. They have mailed me a dispute form now.


anyone had similar experience with godaddy like this?.

No I didn't have any similar experience...
I have a different billing address than the one associated with my credit card but nothing happened!
Perhaps it would be better to send them the proof of id they are asking. After that I believe everything will be fine.
I have heard sometimes all registars block specific countries because of fraud-they have more costs than profits, but I don't think that applies to India because 1 billion people is a huge market.
Please keep us informed-I wish you good luck with this issue.

Kinda odd, someone stole my sites once by getting into my acccount and they said they don't have his IP but yet they can blokck your Ip address? Odd.

THey dint just block my ip. But they say that they have blocked the whole ip ranges originating from my ISP, which is funny.

Vanesaa, yeah i too thought of sending them the proof. But as a customer, i feel why should i send them the proof, because there are several better choices i have to backorder like pool, namewinner and enom. THey all were charging my credit cards and never had problems as far as back orders are concerned. I first made a mistake by using their service.. Because i dont want to take chances on backordering microwsoft, so i tried backordering this domain with all the registrars. That was the reason i used their service, and now having these problems.
