GoDaddy Problem or Just Me?

Hi all.

I'm having trouble with GoDaddy's website.

The CSS and images do not load, and I cannot accomplish anything related to my domain names.

When I looked into it, I saw that GoDaddy's CSS and Images are located on this site:

https://img1.wsimg.com/

I can't load that site at all, nor anything on it.

Is it down for you guys, or is it totally just me?

Eventually I of course tried this:

C:\DOCUME~1\OWNER>tracert img1.wsimg.com
Unable to resolve target system name img1.wsimg.com.

If it's just me - any ideas what's going on? :( I haven't changed any settings BEFORE this happened. Have tried changing many settings AFTER, though.

Thanks... 8-X

Well,

It seems to be working just fine for me....all images load up and seem to be in working order. Not sure what I can suggest perhaps check your host file? other then that not really sure.

This is an odd issue. I just checked out Amazon.com at random - thinking it probably hosted its images and CSS off-site as well - and that too is "broken" to me.

I can't view their image/css site, either! :D

Thanks for the information, Blake.

I figured if it was down, people would already be talking about it - but I wanted to make absolutely sure, and no one I know personally is really a "domainer" who would understand the issue.

I tried accessing GoDaddy on multiple computers, so I think this might be a problem with my ISP... which is hopeless beause they have you reinstall your modem no matter what the problem is. <_<

Not sure if the problem you encountered is ongoing or has since been fixed, but I too was having similar trouble with parts of GoDaddy earlier. However, I was also having issues with other sites, though there did not seem to be anything noticeably wrong that I could find.

Thinking it was possibly either my ISP or tracking cookies causing the issue, I ended up clearing cookies, ran a quick virus computer scan, then rebooted a couple of times. That was a couple of hours ago and thus far, the problem seems to be solved, though I can't be sure if rebooting really helped or not. However, it may be worth a try if you haven't already done so. Hope it helps.

Thanks a ton for the post. Good to know others were having trouble today! (Er... you know what I mean.)

It also happened with Amazon, and another domain I can't recall off the top of my head. (I tried a bunch.)

What worked for me was editing my connection settings and ditching the DNS IP info that my ISP told me to use long ago.

Working fine... for now...

Try clearing your browser cache - that often fixes many things. And if still similar problems, press CTRL-F5 in your web browser to force a hard-refresh of the page.

On a related note, leaving any web browser open for more than a day (or even less than that when used very heavily) is an invitation for trouble. Some people leave browsers open for days, but Firefox, in particular, gets wonky over time unless occasionally closed (to close FF properly, don't click the X, instead click File, then click Exit; or Alt-x) and restarted.
