The sad part is that I knew this is exactly what would happen.

GoDaddy has started putting AI-generated sales pitches on domain name landers.

What this means is that AI is going to figure out what someone is already doing commercially with a name, and then suggest it would be a good name for that purpose.

In other words, you might have a short domain name that could be used as an acronym for a lot of things. But, GoDaddy's AI system is going to find a trademark owner out there somewhere and try to sell the name for that application.

Have a look at a few I gathered in just a few minutes:

If you are parking your names on @GoDaddy landers like this, you are going to lose them in a UDRP. Period.

This is so unbelievably stupid... GoDaddy please fix this or I'll be forced to find a new registrar for the 1000+ domains I have with you. You mentioned this happens with GoDaddy landers, does that include Dan and Afternic landers as well?

If I am understanding correctly, these are not parking pages, but the Go Daddy Auctions' domain details page. We cannot avoid them if we have our domains listed on Afternic, they are beyond our control.

Let's not forget that GoDaddy is a tiny player in this industry. I'm sure they can't afford to have people look into these small matters ๐Ÿ˜‚

@E. Silvera Regarding Afternic- I checked some of my domains, and at least for now, the AI generated description doesn't appear for domains that users are listing at Afternic. So a sigh of relief on that front, at least for now.

I flagged this issue with Atom months ago and nothing happened. It's even worse with Atom as their AI generated depict things to do with existing companies.

This was all totally predictable btw. Current "AI" is just a program the amalgamates search results so whatever it finds it'll assume that's the right answer.

Fortunately, with Atom you can adjust all of that yourself, which is at least what I do. At GoDaddy you cannot change any of this, it seems.

Does anyone know of a domain on a GoDaddy landing page that has an infringing AI description? I tried a few of mine that have potential trademarks issues but the Ask AI has been very generic.

GoDaddy & Atom are all in on AI so ya gotta peep each domain to see what their AI ๐Ÿค– created unfortunately.

I've been looking at auction listings, because I haven't found a good way to surf around the ordinary parking landers with "ask AI" built in to check.

If anyone knows a good way to look at a large number of names with the "Ask AI" feature, I'd be interested in checking it out.

Best bets would be short, pronounceable domain names - i.e. the most valuable ones.
