Assuming they're not locked, transfer them to the likes of NameSilo for 8.89 per domain (with preloaded funds and discount club which is free to join).

There's no renewal discounts for GD unless you're in the domain club afaik.

Yup. Any time I get them they always explicitly state, "new products only". I try to avoid buying domains with less than 60 days to expire so to avoid their exorbitant renewal fees.
