2 days ago I registered 1 domain by godaddy.com
For next day I need delete this domain. I asked godaddy for refund. They sent to me instructions how delete it in "My renewals & upgrades"

But, rather than delete domain, they have suspended it and remove from my account. Support not answer for questions.

This must be so?

And yesterday I try register another domain at godaddy. But while I register them, another registrar were faster. Now I see, that domain paid, but it is in another registrar.
How long godaddy will wait for refund?

Is this real to get refund from this registrar?

Yes it is real, and the proof is I was refunded today for a domain I bought 4 days ago, I sent them an e-mail saying that according to their 5 days refund policy I would like a refund on my domain. They sent the instructions and asked for a reply, I replied and some hours later I got a paypal refund. :)

Be sure that you haven't deleted the domain! If you did I'm not sure If you will get the money neither the domain back.

Delete =/= Cancel

I took half an hour to find the damn cancel button, their instructions are not clear. >:(

it's what domain kiters or domain tasters do, they usually taste a domain for monetization purposes and godaddy gives them 5-day grace period. do whatever you want to do with the domain as long as it don't reach 5 days old, beyond that you may cancel but refund is not guaranteed.

Domain tasting is big business you can make major cash if you have the money to outlay at first but either way as long as you refund within 5days then you have nothing lose.

Simple

Buy expired domains - park them for 3-4 days then get a refund - The money you have made during that 3-4 days is 100% pure profit.

It sounds really easy but you have to be on top of the game and sometimes you also find excellent domains that have dropped and are woth keeping.

Im not saying I agree with it but if I was to spend full time working on the domain business its something i would do for easy cash.

I did however hear the ICANN might try and stop this from happening but who knows.

regards,

Robbie

There are some misconseptions on this thread. Godaddy does not have a 5 day return policy. They allow you to keep names and return them after a much larger period of time (I think 30 days, but don't quote me on that).

This policy is a benefit for GD customers who registered a name by accident or let a name renew by accident, and if you request a refund after 5 days, I believe that they lose the full $7 and yet will still refund you. Godaddy does not condone domain tasting. They don't want people doing it. As a result, if you return too many names, they will begin to charge you $1.00 per returned name, regardless of the extension. If you do it too much after that, I think eventually you can not do it anymore. I believe that they consider it to be "too much" based on the ratio of how many names you have vs how many names you return.

From experience. I do know that if you go over the 5 days, that they can't get their own money back for the name, so you should try not too, I think that it is really nice of them to offer that, so we shouldn't take advantage. Also, you should limit refunds there in general, if you don't want the limits I mentioned placed on your account.

If anyone has trouble getting a refund after 5 days, but within a reasonable time, I would be interested to know.

few days ago i cancelled a domain with GD and they made me the refund without any problem, very fast.

This is the information they gave me when i asked for a cancelation:

We would be happy to request a refund for your order. However, we will need you to first cancel the domain in question within 5 days of the purchase date. Once canceled, please reply to this email, state the domain name you canceled and we will submit your refund request.

so they just give you 5 days to cancel and havin right for a refund.

To get refund from Godaddy!
1.First cancel the domain service from my account. Go to My renewals and cancel the selected domain. DONOT DELETE THE DOMAIN FROM DOMAIN MANAGER.
2. Send the message to godaddy within 5 days with your customer number, domain name, Last four digits of your credit card or paypal agreement number by which you paid for that domain and your four digits support code.
This avoid the delay! They will refund the domain within few hours.
I use to cancel the domain a lot. This helps me getting refund almost everytime.

Cheers!

I am sorry if the information I provided was not 100% correct. I know for a fact that on an accidental renewal you have more than 5 days to return the name and get a refund. I know because I have done it before.

On a new registration, the limit might very well be 5 days. My info was for an accidental renewal. I assumed that the policy was the same for registrations and renewals, but it might be different. So, keep in mind, that the info I gave was for accidental renewals :tu:

oh that kind of makes sense, since the registrars can still keep a domain after it expires anyway whether there's a renewal or not by the previous owner.

Just call them. I've made a few purchases that I changed my mind on after a few days. I spoke to the rep and he immediately cancelled the purchase, less the $0.25 transaction fee of course. The refund appeared on my credit card statement after only a few days.
