Hello. Ive been reading this forum for about a year now. I have been designing websites for the past couple of years and ive decidied I want to try my hand at developing some sites to make some money. Pretty much a... "hey lets see what happens thing." So, im on vacation from my 9-5 and spending pretty much every second of it trying to get a couple of sites up. Im working on a niche myspace layout site... maybe thats lame, or "old news" or something... someone let me know. The site provides Thanksgiving myspace layouts. Simple. Im using Wordpress. My current issue is that I cant seem to get the code to show properly in a text area. For example, I have the correct code that works with a myspace layout. When I put that code into the textarea on my site, its gets messed up and no longer works when copied and pasted into myspace. The site is thanksgivinglayout.com. Any help is much appreciated.

Mike

Thanks for the reply shockie. After digging through wordpress forums everywhere, I find that there are problems with using textarea in a post. Ive found a messy work around though the uses pre tags. Also, I cant go back into the visual editor for the post once ive added a textarea. So, in summary I must set the textarea within pre tags and not use the visual editor. I appreciate the reply.

no problem. you could also try using <blockquote>code</blockquote> if you like that formatting better... which you could modify within your theme's .css file.

Thanks... I thought about that but hadnt yet tried it. I just tried it out and it affected the entire layout including background, fonts, and everything. I used <blockquote>myspace code</blockquote>. Im sure I could get the blockquote to work but i what I have will be fine I suppose. Thanks though.

Thanks weblord. I like that also. That solves a lot of issues I would have with every new layout I add to the site. Plus it looks cleaner which is much needed. Props!
