auskuenfte means INFORMATION in german!...thats what the dictionary says!....then i guess .info suits plus germans love .info i heard.

'Information' has many translations into german. Your word seems to be a variant of Auskunft, in what context I have no idea. However, search in google for these two words, and you'll find these:

Auskunft returns 1,600,000 results.
Auskuenfte returns 25,600 results.

I have a feeling your domain is an awkward variant - something along the lines of 'informationally'. Just as informationally.com won't have any value, your domain is probably reg fee at best, IMHO.

Also adding an e to a german word doest just make it plural. Sometimes there are other variants to add. I don't see any value sorry.

All a difference in culture. the word does mean "INFORMATION" though.


Also Armstrongs aspect was right. Auskunft means "informational, details, particulars, Information offices, inquiries"

I can't explain why they are different spellings besides culture....

That's not entirely correct. Let's try this example:

german to english of 'auto' is 'car'
english to german of 'jalopy' is 'auto'

An american would ask a german 'where can I get an auto?'.
A german asking an american the same thing would say ... not jalopy but car.

See? Jalopy in my example is an archaic term, just as auskuenfte is less popular than informationen, which returns 19,000,000 results compared to auskuenfte's measly 25,600.

Informationen, auskuenfte and auskuenft all translates into information.

auskuenfte is indeed the plural of this word, but does not translate into information in plural (informations). The reason for this is simply that there are several germanic words that translates into information. This one translates as a singular even if mentioned in plural in german.

As for comparing auskuenfte to informationen, it would not give an accurate result, as comparing the matches for the 2 other words. One reason for this would be that informationen is not only a german word, but also Swedish (and by my guess also Norweigan).
