Still previous related sales are an important marker ofc. And saying the .io of a Swiss major city name is worth $5 - $25 is literally as ridiculous as me saying I think it's worth $1M.

Also I just realised you made that first post. I've already had offers higher than your guestimation from people in dms, which isn't hard considering that you said resellers would offer me $50.. for a 6L.io geo exact match from a country with the global prestige and economy of Switzerland

Right, and I totally get that people have differing opinions and I'm not expecting to have someone say this domain is worth $20,000 because the .xyz sold for that much. I know that value is partially in the eye of the buyer too and so have a realistic outlook on it.

But people saying a domain like this is worth $50 is just wasting their time and mine, and confusing less experienced domainers who in many cases would actually be exploited under these conditions and be tricked into selling their domain for pennies because an "authority" said that's all its worth.

It's also not good for the domaining industry to have things like this happen as it deflates prices, it doesn't bolster them.

And of course it's dishonest and disingenuous because no one who's been around domains for more than 3 minutes would ever think that a major European city name with an extension like .io could be worth reg fee - as the only two respondents have both somehow aligned in thinking makes some form of sense.

Well, it was worth registration fee just a couple years ago I also can't see a reseller paying more than low 3 figures for this one, even that is a bit of a stretch. It's a fine domain though, worth holding. Finding the right end-user might be a challenge.

That's right it was dropcaught in 2022 and auctioned getting a price of about $1,000 as the winning bid.
