Generic Product Domain Names

I have a lot of generic .coms. I have only been buying names for about a year..I really don't know what to do with them.. Also wonder what people think of the new extensions .arts, .kids, .travel ect.....
I have nascar.arts, disney.arts, mardigras.arts, track.travel
and more..

I would avoid those new.net Domain regs, sure they are tempting when nice keywords are available but dont give in just the same

I like the new extensions. I don't think .Arts, .Travel, .Kids are going to go away. May take a while before they are worth anything though.

Hi Betty, Welcome to NP!

I think you are making two beginner mistakes with some of those names:

1) Names like Nascar and Disney will likely bring TM issues and possibly forefeiture of your names.

2) New.net names are not only not recognized by ICANN (the Internet regulatory body), but they don't work unless users have a special proprietary plug-in installed. That is, nascar.arts is actually nascar.arts.new.net...

Hi Anthony. Thank you for the info..Yes I am new at this..Love it though. I really didn't know the new names were so complicated.
It said that no where when I purchased them and on my purchase list it only says nascar.arts there are over 2000 nascar names registered doesn't that eliminate tm problems?
I am aware of the TM issue thing..I'm having a problem right now with Enterprise for my EnterpriseUsedcar names.. I was actually nieve enough to think they might buy my ideas for a small sum. I think the domain regs totally kill creativity of enhansing existing companys. I think the amount paid to the creator should be like a thousand dollars..or the domain name should be retired. Stealing Ideas is just so un American. I don't think a company is even asked if there is a domain name registered before a trademark is issued.
