Weird prices for product .coms - boxliners.com to pizzas.com
i've been watching a few of the recent generic "product" .coms at auction recently and been thinking about how random their prices seem.
I'm thinking of metalsheds.com going for $7,800 (and even metalsheds.net go for over $2k, if i remember correctly). we just had the boxliners.com at TDNAM go for $505. lots of others we could mention - coffee.org $100k and even pizza.com could come into the equation here.
as a developer, many of these don't have the wordtracker to justify development. for instance, boxliners doesn't get any wordtracker, metal sheds only 82.
so, value is i guess dependent on how short the domain is, how lucrative and competitive the industry, and how valuable the products. perhaps searches count also, and i think perhaps general public awareness of that product - you're more likely to bid on something you've heard of.

so, what i thought might be good to discuss - is there a minimum wordtracker score people want to see before regging generic product names? what other criteria do you use - google results, rick'sexcitement factor, shortness, widget price? are you primarily thinking about selling to resellers, end users, parking, or development yourself?
Lots of bold as it's a big intro - but with all these mega (and small) sales - an important point IMO
