Free website tools?

Hi all,
Are there any free website design/software tools out there that I can use to create my own site? I have hosting set up with GoDaddy. I'm totally new at this, and have limited funds. Your feedback is GREATLY appreciated.

What Rich linked to are nice additives that you could use for your site (or complete CMS'), but I believe you are asking about development software?

In that case, there are many!

if you use Linux, then you will see a few good production tools that normally comes with Linux distros, such as VI.

If you are looking for great image manipulation software or graphics design software, then I am not for certain on a good free one.

In addition to Notepad++ I use PSPad which is great to compare files!

This is on the list Rich gave you - Wordpress is one of the easiest ways to set up a new site. If you have the cPanel interface with your hosting (not sure GoDaddy does), then you go to the Fantastico icon, click on Wordpress, fill out a few details and you have a website. Problem is, GoDaddy are not renowned for their hosting. I would go with someone like Hostgator instead, it's only a few dollars a month.

What do you need mate? if you want built a forum use vbulletin, but if blog i recommended use Wordpress
