I had obtained an account in 4/2009, but never used it. I procrastinated, and when I did finally try, the site was not available.
Today I signed up, am able to access the members area. I do not yet have a hosting account as I haven't decided what domain to use.
How long will my access to the members area remain in effect?
What are the nameservers that I should use?

The access to the members area will remain indeff as long as the terms of Melgurt are not violated as Melgurt has officially been launched. Hosting accounts with content not uploaded to them within (60) days wll be terminated by a cron job. That is most likely what happened to your first account. They can easily be recreated at a later time if needed.
