I was just watching Fox news and right there on the TV is the advertisment for FoxNews.mobi

And I just saw an article about Patriots.mobi the NewEngland patriots official mobile website.

It is taking time but .mobi will be huge

Cool! Thanks for sharing. :tu:

Rep'd!

I wonder how many .com sites were being promoted on TV just 2 (and a bit) years after it was released (which would have been 1987)?

And how many .TV sites (which would have been 1998)?

And all the rest of the extensions for that matter?

Anyone know?

FoxNews.mobi has been promoted for a LONG time by Fox News. They show it all the time, when they are coming back from commercial, etc.

They and Bank of America are two places I have seen promoting their .MOBI a lot.

why do you care where it is redirected???? they are telling people to go to foxnews.mobi. i agree that it makes more sense not to redirect it but its really not an issue.

I'd love to hear why this is a negative?

Do you think this matters to the masses that go to the site via the mobi address advertised?

I'd love to hear the logic behind the reason anyone would consider this a negative.

you cant compare it like that. back then .com wasnt just a new extension, the entire world wide web was new and hardly anyone knew what the internet was or had ever been on it.

Yes, that is correct. So it sounds like there were no .com TV promotions/commercials after 2 years since .com was released. I am still interested to know when the first .com sites started appearing on TV. Not as a comparison, I'm just curious.

I am curious as well, we had so many ads on TV during the .com BOOM, but how many are still in Business?
