Is assigned to the Republic of Moldova, however .md has been basically taken over by medical sites registering it.

I've been trying to get a good name, as I am a medical student looking to start up a Medical forum. Medical forums/boards are very popular on the internet, and i'm going to be working with a few medical sites in getting the community started.

My only fear is that .md extension isn't that popular? Does google / other search engines crawl .md extensions? And what do you think the value of this domain will be developed. Thanks.

if developed you might spark a revolution of others registering .md for things such as your idea the .md is barly reconized but that is a great keyword Id say if you develop it would pretty easy to advertise this one to the medical world i think this will bring you great joy in owning this one and i wish you luck

Nice name! MD could also stand for Maryland if you're looking to sell (doesn't appear that way now).

I would say mid $xxx because of the keyword and the fact medical forums are popular (I'll take your word for it), but I would recommend developing the site so you can make more than the $150 registration fee.

Wait until .md becomes popular, if it ever does. Right now Low to Mid XX undeveloped. It is a popular one worded name, but the .md hurts it 90 %.

We're looking at medical forums here, even though the extension is Moldova's ccTLD.

If marketed the right way, you could have a very popular site on your hands. But if you find the right developer, you might have some quick cash as well.

well the keyword is a nice one but the extension is not a popular one so you will be having a hard time finding the buyer for this one.

well, that's not a bad name.

Even if you can't have it work as medical forum, you can always offer a forum service in Moldova (shouldn't cost much to hire a translator from that country) and try to monetize it anyway.

Low $xxx, possibly more with time.

This depends totaly on how you develop it, how much advertising you do and also what kind of forum you want to start, medical forum would not be that bad, there are not many of those out there.

When researching some of my healthcare names I came across some MASSIVE medical forums. Your name is much better (if you can properly brand it).

Being someone that has a lot of really good .md names, plus one of the few who has actually sold some (Poker.md for $2k and K.md for $475), while I like .md, I think it hasn't really achieved status or worth beyond that of other out-there exts like .tc, .sh, etc, which is kind of a letdown. IMO it IS better than most of those extensions, but not by a whole lot.

"Forums" is still available in a decent amount of those extensions, and I think the only saving grace for Forums.md is that MD could stand for Maryland and that .md is slightly better than the extensions that are left. I think MD for healthcare helps only for a name that is immediately recognizable as being in that field, and forums is not. Neither of my sales were either, but Poker is one of the most powerful domain words now, and 1-letter names get sold pretty easily no matter what extension. With "reg fees" being $150 at most places now, I think you're looking at probably $200-$400, possibly more to the right end user, but I personally would stick with more powerful words in .md. It hasn't taken off like even I had hoped, despite places like Afternic advertising the heck out of it. Good luck!
