Hey

Just an idea for you guys, how about a new forum named "General Help" or similar that would be a better place for people to post threads such as:

How to stop spam bots
"Need Help?"

Etc, you get the idea :)

Currently any thread needing help with misc themes like OS issues, software problems things like that are being posted in the Break forum which is by the description more for casual discussion than help? :P

Personally don't mind and i realise this is primarily a domain/webmaster talk forum however might be an idea to encourage more people to use the forum for that type of support :tu:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

The only problem is, you would also get posts like:

"I've got coursework due for tomorrow...help"
or
"My boyfriend dumped me...help"

You get the point ;)

It would need to be more specific.

lol. Ok, perhaps a note in the description it's for IT related topics?

Although coming from a teenagers perspective i don't see myself posting any topics about my boyfriend dumping me D-:

(although perhaps there is another reason for that :hehe:)

Actually, I think it's a good idea, the Break Room is a bit too general and ends up with all the uncategorized posts. A general help subforum would be a good idea within the Break Room perhaps

I've always thought a tech support forum would be of use here. I'm not sure if there would be dedicated people to answer questions, but it'd be a nice addition, IMHO. :)

Perhaps it could create an opening for a new 'tech nerds' user group lol.

Nah on a serious note everyone would just do the same as they usually would, chip in if you can help answer a question if not stay out. If anyone shows they are exceptionally good at answering general questions or have a 'tech' specialty like OS problems then perhaps a new user group would be a good idea.

Or, give the Forum Leader job to the member that is consistently helpful in that new subforum. I think we would benefit from a subforum rather than putting more clutter on the Index.

I agree, my thoughts went to a new forum when this first came into my head but when polurNET mentioned it and now you a subforum would be tidier.

Thanks for the feedback on the idea :)
