This dropped recently.

Aged domain - first reg'd in early 2001.

All majors and a few minor extensions taken (e.g. .tv, .nl, .ngo).

I'm thinking this would suit a file converter software site.

Any ideas in terms of value?

Thanks.

as a file-conversion I can see where your coming from. No appeal with 'Factory' unless your handling thousands of file conversions everyday, and even then I'd want to use 'reassuring words' as a connection.

Still flummoxes me why people quote original registration date (unless it supports on-going traffic history)

I guess it shows that the name wasn't just pulled out of a hat, so to speak - rather, that it's desirable enough to have been used a while ago. With the internet being such a young medium, any age is an exception.

If a domain has reasonably recent usage history - YES, I appreciate the ongoing/inherited value. but unfortunately it's hardly (if ever) quantified. So often reads as a side track - as in ' Nothing of real value to tell you apart from'

Oh, I see. Yeah I suppose it must in some cases be used as a desperate last-ditch attempt to try and turn brass into gold.

I tend to use it as one variable among many though.

I wouldn't though, Nice if you get to grab something with real workable connections (that's not seen the light of day for 10 plus, or whatever years)
Otherwise I tend to think of almost advertising As 'Living in the Past' Established Traffic history (even currently/years unused) being a whole different matter though
