lol, you worded it fine :D.

I think what happens is that pages that are seo optimized, using mod_rewrite are more likely to get indexed than a dynamic page, it still indexes them, i think that seo friendly ones are just a bit more likely to be indexed. Dont ask me why lol.

Dynamic sites do definately get indexed by search engines such as google. Some search engines do not (I beleive) index dynamic sites.

The ones that do (as already mentioned google is 1) they have a fail safe that they tend to only index so many at any 1 time to stop the bot getting stuck in an endless loop.

A non-SEO page will still get indexed by all of the major SEs however it has been my experience that if the forums are SEO'd more pages will be indexed and faster.

My theory is that since it is a completely different name the SE knows it is a new page, rather than changing one variable from a 1 to a 2.

Also people that tell you dynamic pages WON'T be indexed is either a newbie who hasn't read or done enough, or someone who is trying to get money out of a newbie

the following is taken from http://www.google.com/webmasters/2.html

Your pages are dynamically generated. We're able to index dynamically generated pages. However, because our web crawler could overwhelm and crash sites that serve dynamic content, we limit the number of dynamic pages we index. In addition, our crawlers may suspect that a URL with many dynamic parameters might be the same page as another URL with different parameters. For that reason, we recommend using fewer parameters if possible. Typically, URLs with 1-2 parameters are more easily crawlable than those with many parameters.
