Football : Diving

If you've been watching the world cup (im going to say football not soccer so bear that in mind, im not talking bout the one where you throw the ball about) then the teams like portugal and italy have been diving trying to win an oscar!

It spoils the game IMO and some of it is jsut to get other players into trouble...what do you think?

I think it's a part of football (soccer by the way is a British word) and it will not go away no matter how much debate.
Without reviewing instant replay the referee will never be able to tell every dive.

I dont see why there cant be a TV ref aswell,and also the referees need to be much less lenient with diving, in the england game he warned a portugal player for it, it should alway be a yellow card according to the rules of the game

(and yes i know soccer is an englsih word, we just all call it football)

i was so sad when Brazil lost.

It's a shame when players go down like they've been shot, but it's becoming a part of the game

Yep, that's just one of the reasons I hate soccer.

Players dive, act injured, get carried off on a stretcher, then 2 minutes later score the game winning goal.

Not Only diving look at refs when there so One sided .. ...

England played 11 against 12 on there last world cup match << IMHO

I agree, ( I wont even talk about Holland-Portugal )

but, I think Portugal is making smart use of the FIFA strict rules.
In my opinion they take away the basic of soccer.
