Cheers,

Im a fan of domain hacks and this is a good one based on sales of some flower domains.

Having said that, not everyone likes hacks especially resellers.

Hard to give an accurate value and I don't have much knowledge of .rs as en extension.

I Agree with the thoughts above.

If it were anything to do these type of domains with
you have certainly picked the right one to do.

However i have no clue what to appraise this at...

But i do know you will be able to sell it, just don't know
what offers would be put on the table

GOOD LUCK!

I think you've got a nice hack, but as others have commented I don't think the reseller market really attributes much value to them. An end-user might really like it, but the worry is always that their customers would be confused by it. Notable successes of exotic TLDs, like del.icio.us and last.fm, also get their name in the .com variation - something that wouldn't be possible for your hack, obviously.

Excellent point!

Yes, of course, that's the 'worry'.. Do I need flowers.com, in order to make this 'fly'?.. As far as I know, that is something that has never really been tested out on a domain 'hack' before (will you fail without the .com).

What I do know 'though, is that the domain world is changing, and that with careful promotion it may be possible for domains like this to stand on their own, as an individual brand in their own right.

Something along the lines of "we don't actually need .com, our connection is with 'www' directly" might be in order?

Normally, I would never have such a long domain hack as flowe.rs, as I prefer 2+2 hacks instead, e.g. ri.sk (which is also one of mine).

I feel 2+2's, like this, are more balanced and aesthetically pleasing.. They also seem, somehow, as 'though they are more credible and they are 'meant to be', a true brand.

Flowe.rs, was for me, an exception. My idea is to create a logo where the dot (in the name) forms the circular central part of a flower, which then expands in to the rest of the name. By doing this, it should create a seamless and highly attractive logo, where the 'dot' is important, and it all appears as one word.

I'm not a fan of extension hacks outside of novelty use. There has been almost no successful development of them, and the few examples involved multi-million dollar backing.

Let's not forget that del.icio.us also owns delicio.us and delicious.com. Why didn't they just use delicio.us?

last.fm makes sense because it's a music site that lists what people play. I can't tell you off the top of my head any other .fm that has been developed at all.

Good point. Delicio.us, may have needed the .com, because the hack version may be a bit difficult these days for people to spell. It's also quite a long name, and to refer to it verbally, may take up to a minute.

Very short hacks, like ri.sk, however, suffer none of those impediments...

The issue of .com branding is a separate point.. Interesting, valid, but separate nontheless....

I don't think you'd have much luck on the reseller market, but you could probably sell it to the owners of flowers.com. I can't really guess at a price, though.
