The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
AfternicAfternic
bare minimum at least $25k for that name.

I think he sold it for $13k...
Unfortunately, the key to selling a domain for good money is not needing the money in the first place.

Not sold yet actually. It’s still for sale.
You should consider putting a for sale page on the domain and listing it on domain marketplaces to get more offers.

I would want mid $XX,XXX+ for it personally.

It's a good term, but also very broad.

According to dotDB, 'flashsale' is registered in 95 extensions. Even the hyphenated version 'flash-sale' is taken in 21 extensions.

And it's part of the string of about 1,200 other domains. Hundreds of websites are developed with this term.

So as a term to develop a site with, particularly a store, it works very well. However, to build a company around, it's a little weak; OpenCorporates shows only two businesses currently active with that term.

But that doesn't limit its business application; with the right vision, someone can build quite a good service listing flash sales, selling ads, coupons, deals, I dunno but there's a lot of scope for potential.

A $13K offer is not bad, if you can use the money. It's cheap for this domain, but you're not taking a bath by selling at this price. Still, if I owned it and didn't need some fast cash, I'd let it sit with a for-sale landing page on it, priced at around 50K - 75K range BIN. Have a Make Offer link too, to get any buyers started off.

I'd definitely counter the 13K; I'm assuming it's a first offer and you haven't been going back and forth negotiating yet? If it's a first offer and not a best-and-final, then the buyer likely expects a counter-offer anyways so you may as well counter with 50K and see what they say to that.

The WIPO.int shows a bunch of trademarks with this term. Do you own one of those? If not, careful if you do any outbounding. But there are hundreds of developed sites with this term in their domain name, so a possible start would be to email those developed sites. You have the 'category killer' version of this name and many companies/people would love to own it. There's another whole debate about outbounding to such companies, as well as potential trademark issues... but if you choose to do that, you can always start another thread here and get more specific advice.

For now, answering the general bent of your question: 13K is not an awful price if you can use the money, or if you've never ever had an offer before. But it's a low price; I would not accept that price myself, unless I desperately needed my left nut replaced. Maybe not then, either. I'd carefully outbound this one, and if any replies, send them the link to the domain's for-sale landing page. They can make an offer or hit the BIN button.

Nice name!

Welcome to Namepros

You don't even have it pointed anywhere that resolves to a landing page, so you are depriving yourself of all the valuable info and opportunities you could be receiving from visitors to your domain. Point this to your Name Pros name servers shown in your account here and add it to your Name Pros lander listings. Just look at the top of this page and click on "Landers". Do That Now. Monitor all the feedback you get from all the people who fill out the contact form on your landing page and you will learn more from that than anything else. You can also add a link to monetize the traffic!
