Estibot: $4,800
DomainIndex: $3,980

usbflashdrive.org has 1 bidder for $5,000 on SEDO right now.

Thoughts? What are your valuations for this?

Too generic.

Companies that sell flash drives will not use this exact term as a URL.

These types of domains rarely sell, and it is a dot org, not a dot com.

Don't pay attention to Estibot for valuations.

That means nothing.

The minimum offer is $90 and the asking price is 5k.

The one offer shown could be for the minimum $90.

No way of knowing.

It also could be a fake bid from a shill account just to get a bid showing, and move the domain higher in the results.

Don't use auto appraisal tools. They are incredibly inaccurate for the majority of domains, and cannot compare to a humans understanding of how all the data used to give you an appraisal comes together and its true market value. The problem is your domain is not in a tld that makes sense for the niche it operates in. FlashDrive.com/net and english language cctlds are likely going to garner sales in the x,xxx+ range.

.ORG is more targetted to foundations/charities/NFPs

Flash.org great
Drive.org great

FlashDrive.org niche is more focused to a commercial marketplace.

Still mid XXX+ would be a nice bit of profit if you paid reg-fee to low xxx for the name. I'd email any companies using a lesser extension or using a longtail .com like flashdrivestore etc and quote them $1k and accept any counter-offers in the mid xxx range. If you really want this to sell you gotta do the groundwork and not sit and wait like the guy with usbflashdrive.org.

generic is exactly what you want and has highest value. always.
the more generic the better.

but as you say.. org kills the deal.

combining org with products or such.. is a bad idea.

if owner sits on it for mny years a bite may come.. or not. but its big risk to take.

similar to my only .org product domain which is Humidifiers
I'll sit on it, but.. hope for the best and expect the worst.

cheers
