What do you guys think of it? Develop or try to find a buyer? I made the newbie mistake of using leapfish appraisals. I got a bit over excited, I guess a learning experience at best if its not worth anything.

I agree that this purchase is primarily a learning experience. However, you may be able to recoup the register fee on it. After all, the .biz/.info/.us/etc are all taken.
Good luck -- sorry that you had to learn about Leapfish the hard way.
I'm sure I can find a way to recoup on it. Mostly try to develop it in free time. I only wish I would have done my research first. The more I'm learning, it's kind of worth it.
I think the name is not bad because more than 30 extensions have been regged, and if this is your first domain reg, I should say well done!
MySMS is also branded for many products/applications or services. Those companies may interested in purchasing this name to build their online customer community. I have experience of selling .org domains like this, and recently I sold a .org to .COM for low $x,xxx
Therefore, you have a good chance to face the end user, you could email them(check TM before doing this). If they are interested, the deal normally depends on how much you will ask for this name. Don't be overpriced, and be careful with the TM issue.
No guarantee, but since 30+ extensions have been regged and many applications/services are using this name, I would say you have a great chance to sell it to an end user.
I saw your questions in PM, and replied, hope it helps!
