Hello everyone,

As we all know, everyone has parked their domain at Sedo, and everybody has nice domains there.

But is it really possible to find buyers from Sedo ?
Has anyone every made an offer for your domain at Sedo ?

Share you success stories here.

Thanks :xf.love:

Personally I've had just two sales there. One was initiated by a Buyer I found here. The name went to auction and did not receive another bid. The other was a sale where the Buyer actually found the name through Sedo. So only two sales but I have lots more names listed there now. I've heard complaints here about slow closings but my experience so far has been good.

I probably sell anywhere from two to five domains a month at sedo. However, that's based on a portfolio of about 2700 good quality domains.

Basically, you don't find buyers at sedo. By listing or parking there, you make it easier for them to find you.

Public Domain Registry (DirectI) for .com domains . They are asking me to transfer to some other registrar, for selling the domain. If I transfer, I will have to pay another years registration fee. Will the buyer or Sedo reimburse me for the additional cost?

ahhhhh that was the answer I was looking for.

I had suspected a person needed a very high amount of domains in order to be able to sell 2 - 5 domains there a month.

Thanks for sharing about DirectI. Luckily I have not bought any domains from them.

I wonder what the problem is with Directi? They are an accepted, fairly large registrar. Is the registrar they want you to transfer to well known? If not then it may be a scam by the buyer of some kind.

I don't know what the problem is. They want me to transfer the domain to 1and1 , and I think only US, Canadian and European registrants can register a domain there (I'm from Asia).

Did you mean the Featured Listing option ?
By listing, you make it easier for them to find you.

I have parked about 250 names at sedo, and total sales is about 10 in past half year (most of them through Sedo Auction)

looks like the chances of getting an offer is very rare if you have a small portfolio.

So i guess we have to start building up our portfolios to 1000 domains. hehe

I've a couple of domains parked at Sedo too but never got an offer :P

I think the competition is just too strong, simply too many good domains...

I have sold 17 domains at Sedo, com in the past couple of years! And, yes, TWO in January 2007! Even sold some with a hyphen!

Very true. Think about this when you register that domain name. Is it really that good? Are the numbers for it that good? What about the domain name will make it get noticed, and make someone want to buy it... out of the millions listed!

1and1 I think is owned by the same people as SEDO, somebody correct me if I am wrong. I have had an offer for a domain that is at Whiz, which is Directi, no mention of transfering it by Sedo, but I did not accept the offer. This is a new one to me.

You don't always have to do exactly as Sedo wishes. They (Sedo) can easily create an account wherever your domain is registered (or any other registrar), then you can easily push the domain to the Sedo account. Once it is in their account, they can take over from there, you have done your part.

Hi,

I have a few names listed at sedo....but as someone rightly said, the competition is just too damn good, I have not managed to sell any domains yet, but I guess I can wait for a bit, it's just been a month since I listed at Sedo, I have a received a few offers but nothing as close to what I wanted, for ex. I have a domain called qcch.com (which I've put up for sale here as well for $9,999), but I've received a few offers for less than 3 grands there. Guess it's about being patient at sedo, because the way I see it, there are way too many domains listed with them. What says ppl?

It appears that Sedo is not interested in opening an account for these auctions. If the buyer/Sedo does not contact me , how long do I have to wait? Instead of waiting, I would rather develop the domain.
