Yeah and 70% of sites are hosted in the US and most of the rest in Europe even though the web is truly global. The Internet is still in its infancy. We are only just beginning to see its potential. There are going to be a lot of changes in the future.

There is a lot of SUPRESSION in this world. Even in the UN Security Council, a veto by Russia or China, will effectively kill the voice of a resolution.

Maybe on hindsight, ICANN controlling the internet can be good for freedom-loving netizens.
