Hi guys,

Recently I was asked to reappraisal one of our domains -- FIN.com. I have some ideas about the worth of the name. However, the true is that I really don’t know for sure. If forum members can provide some help, I would really appreciate.

Here is some basic information about the name.

Fin, according to Merriam-Webster dictionary, is an abbreviation of the word Finance or Financial. Correct me if I am wrong. Fin is the only three-letter word that related to the financial industry. Google search of Fin yields 355 million results. The word fin has been used by various entities including:

Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Estonia (www.fin.ee)
Department of Finance of Canada (www.fin.gc.ca)
Banco central del Ecuador (www.bce.fin.ec)
Alaska Department of Administration - Division of Finance (www.fin.admin.state.ak.us)

The domain currently receives 300-500 type in daily. We recently made a ppc website for the name. Visitors seem very interested in Investment and Mutual Fund related subjects. Anyway, please feel free to check it out and make comments.

Regards,
Mlee

I would have to agree. Type-in, 3 letter, pronounceable, has a meaning... very nice domain.

How is the PPC lander doing? I would think 80-200k reseller, though there should be end-users-aplenty for a name like this. GL

Thanks guy for the appraisals. After I receive a few more appraisals, I will disclose one of the offers I recently received. I think people will be surprised.

As for the Fin.com website, the click through actually lower than the plain parking page. Visitors spend more time exploring the site rather than click on ads. A great deal of visitors click on [contacts] and [links]. We start to receive inquiring emails about advertising on our site. From developing website point of view, the news is good.

It also could be fin as in the french word end. Or fin as in the fin of a shark.

definetly high value.

Skinny

This is a low xxx,xxx name easily.
Fin = Finance

I would recommend putting up a site with original content rather than the PPC-sites feed, which can lead to duplicate content and SE-delisting.

Cheers

Finance / Finland

If it gets 400 uniques per day, and they are looking for Finance related topics, then the revenue should be very nice as well.

Do not sell it for anything less than low xxx, xxx$.

I would actually think that a relation to Scuba gear would be in there too.

I will say your offer was probably upper $xx,xxx.
