I'm not seeing the correlation between the two words. As a .com I think it would be very hard to sell. I think the .org fully kills any value.

thanks for your feedback,please note that filecrypt.de ranked quite high even up to 2250 in Germany and 4480 in the world,so just take a chance to register it.

Did you look into any trademark issues?

Also remember that sometimes sites rank well because they are good sites... not because they have good names.

please bear in mind ,all start with a right domain on the net thats the reason why so many companies nowdays are taking a liking to buy their brand names instead of the old one,whats more,a good name can make a website brandable and eye-catching,get people willing to eye on their sites even the price is not reasonable sometimes,i mean a right name makes a brand really trusted indeed though filecrypt.org is not a good one

I agree. A good brand name can make a big difference. We just have to remember that opinions often vary widely on what is "good". So it's important to:

1. Pick a popular niche
2. Pick a short, memorable name that makes sense
3. Be prepared to hold it for several years

I think filecrypt.org misses the mark on the first two.

to some extend,i can see eyes to eyes with you,but i would say its vaule need to depend on what industry is ,and lots of domain owners have hold their domains up to even 10 years or more,what a pity,they still not get decent offers in the end,as for a company ,not the shorter the better sometimes the right one for them will hit the jackpot.
