Im newbie so i might be wrong, but why should it be a Major TM issue? FIFA means "Fédération Internationale de Football Association" why couldnt be other organization or company with different meaning for those letters? Its a short domain name so probably already there are others using those letters for different meanings.

When i seach for SEDO, i got few results with different meanings for those letters, Sociedad Española De Optica, Sociedad Española De Ortodoncia, if they would own sedo.es would they be in troubles too?

Maybe there is, but its parked at Sedo. It is likely he knew of the TM when he regged it, and regged it for this purpose.
