I like that "field guide" can apply to just about anything... a single species, a whole city or even websites (a Field Guide to Mobile Websites et al). And, as I said in my last "regd" post, TV MO TV (tvMO.TV), I have TV & Mobile on the mind (due to recent interest in my phonestreaming.com) and field guides are intended for the field... where the cogent thought is... the mobile phone/device is really The modern, content neutral, Field Guide platform.

There is a whole series of books by Warmans for dozens of collectible niches called Field Guides. Like, Warman's Hot Wheels Field Guide, Warman's Beatles Field Guide, etc.

These are undersized books that collectors can take to auctions and such, so they can check out the value of any type of item in that niche. They are quite popular..... in fact, my wife sells them from her antique shop.

Visual guides go very well with .TV, imo, and this one, in the mobile info-age, may be one of the better guide names.
