what is natural traffic? And how does one determine if the traffic is natural, artificial, or fake?

Is Adwords, or purchasing traffic via banner ads, considered artificial traffic? What is the best way of increasing natural traffic to a website?

artificial or fake traffic is the kind purchased. Such as buy 100,000 visitors for $200. This type of traffic is just bots visiting your site driving up the traffic count. Natural traffic is traffic caused by real people visiting your site.

Auto Surf, Manual Surf, Mass E-Mail sites are artificial traffic, They serve no purpose, and there is no gain from them, adwords, search engine, web directories, links on other peoples sites, Are real traffic.

I guess in a nutshell, Any traffic that has incentives for the clicker is false traffic.

i am curious as to why paid ads like adwords count as natural traffic. if i start an adwords campaign and run it for 2 months...then close it out, will i still get traffic? can adwords help a site's traffic grow?

I think Adwords is real traffic because there isn't supposed to be incentives for clicking on them.

absolutely it's real traffic, adwords is advertising via search engine, The person that clicks your ad, get paid nothing, and only clicks on your ad because that is what they are looking for, When starting out with a freshly registered domain name, how would you ever get traffic to it? Advertising and promotion, The difference is, you do it through adsense, yahoo and ect, While on the other hand, auto surf sites pay incentives, your website shows up random, the viewer could careless about your site, they are trying to earn points towards getting thier own site hits, the same with manual surf aswell as opt in e-mailing, Unless your name has extremly good search engine indexing, is in several hundred web directories, you wont get any traffic, So, It is necessary to advertise by using adwords, yahoo, web directories, it is non incentive natural traffic, and at some time and some point, You are going to pay for legit traffic such as adwords and ect, if you expect your website to ever launch.

It can help you launch your website to the world, maintaing traffic is another story, You have to monetize and submit your site every 30 days to all the major search engines, so your site is being continiously crawled by search engine bots, That will get your site higher and higher indexing, plus you establish page rank aswell, My sites are getting upper 30% pure search engine traffic at the moment with no referer, I want that number to double to 60% , But to get my sites where they are, i have used google verification, google site map for every site, submit my sites every 30 days, plus i get alot of traffic from web directories, i have submitted my sites to over 1,000 web directories, Almost all directories accepted my sites, so i have links coming from hundreds of web directories aswell.

You will get banned by Google if you put adwords on your parking site, maybe not right away, but eventually.

If you use adwords to drive traffic to parked names, you'll probably be banned by your parking service first.

It's OK to send adwords to a developed SITE, but its not "natural" traffic.

Not natural traffic? If someone clicks your link that is indexed in google, is that natural traffic? Or a link that is indexed in a web directory, is that natural traffic? I think it is, The person clicking your ad is getting no incentive to click the link, same with adwords, the clicker is getting no incentive to click your ad.

Typically, you can not use any kind of advertising with domain parking companies, That is why i no longer use domain parking services, The ROI
is far better having websites, for me any way

i don't know about this. when i first started domaining, i used adwords to send traffic to a sedo parked site. they first held my funds to reivew my traffic. I explained i used adwords, and they released my funds. things might have changed since, but it woudl be something to ask the parking company. But i stopped doing that, cuz I didn't make any money that way, i mean, total sedo gain - adword cost = $5.00 i think. To be honest, i just did it to see what would happen....

like i said, things might have changed since then

Natural traffic that the parking companies want is from a person directly typing your domain url into their browser.

Exactly. As defined by most parking companies, Natural Traffic is "type in" traffic.
