Thanks for the coverage :D

The "100%" logo indicates that the entire story is true; we covered real news since the very beginning in September 2009, however since July of 2010 the "100%" logo was introduced, to assist readers that face humor challenges :D

Dont feel too bad for Rick, Maybe the company should have done their homework prior to agreeing to obtain the domain.

Maybe that was one of the determining factors into why he did what he did...who knows - but it doesn't really matter why.

Either way, Rick is a damn good guy for doing what he did.

These kind of stories need 1000x more exposure!

But NOOOOOOOOOO....

Its always the Bob Parsons/Elephant Killing/Snap Schill Bidding/Privacy Peeking/Trademark Infringing/Cybersquatting domaining stories that seem to get the most coverage in our Industry, which is why we have such a bad image to others.

To The Poet, and Acroplex I'm sending you guys reps for covering this positive domainer story...Very Cool!

Granted he has done the right thing in giving the domain back to the rightful owner however he put himself in the position in the first place.

Of course they do, people like sleaze and controversy, they rarely want to read about someone who did the right thing and prefer to think the industries such as this are full of scumbags.

Look at the banking crisis over the last couple of years, there were many headlines about bonuses the bosses were getting etc but very little said about those that declined the bonuses even though they themselves did not do anything wrong (remember not everyone in the banking industry was at fault).

People can never be happy no matter what.

For the record, when I broke the news back in November, it's funny reading all the negativity oozing in that thread. No worries, I've grown thicker skin over the years.

I agree with the dot stop, this kind of news deserves much more visibility and coverage!

Wouldn't he have to give it back anyways?
In the very least he would have had to deal with a very public lawsuit to retain ownership of the well known stolen domain he bought.
