And find nothing? This is mostly to the hand reggers out there.... what's your longest dry spell?

I'll register anything that I think I can sell for at least $10. So when I go 10 hours with finding nothing it can suck!

i've been in this situation as well... but like fishing, it makes it that much more exciting when a domain does get reg'd!

I'll type some in if I think of something off the top of my head. But mostly I cut and paste lists of 500 each. I still don't use any automated domain software. I probably should. A while back I used voice recognition software to create lists but haven't done that in a while. I've recently gotten more into the expired domain name game, which I should have gotten into earlier.

It is a good sign, the longer it takes and the more picky you are the better the chance for a profit.

Depends on the extension......for com, I don't do anymore hand regging. Just that the hits are too far and few between.

The best flips right now are in the ccTLD's. Geos are hot as long as you have the right extension. TV is great for geo's with 50K plus populations for city names only. City name with state abbreviation is going for 50-100 for towns with 100K population.

Poker/Gambling domains are always hot as long as they are true: BetPoker.xxx, BlackJack.xxx, CasinoNews.xxx.

Once after the third looooong day of not finding anything I felt like calling it quits but then after waking up I had more energy and thought what the heck, I'll try some more. I guess that's a fairly common occurance, ... I work at something until I'm exhausted and think I'll never do that again but when I have more energy I'll try again. Mine were manual registrations because I don't know how to run scripts but I did try to shave seconds off my time by experimenting with moving the windows around the desktop for maximum efficiency, getting a great trackball (cordless optical trackman), and then got macro express to help save me more time...then later I went to elance.com and got someone there to make a more advanced macro to save me even more time. However I haven't done that for a few years now. I actually made my basic list by going thru a dictionary and spending several days typing out a list of words.

Nope, I usually have too many domains that I want to reg but don't have enough money to buy them all! :td: Therefore I have to be very selective in what I reg.

I use software to look for large numbers of available domains in one swoop, so if I'm looking to reg something I will typically find at least 1-2 to register.

With that said, I've moved away from regging domains and moved towards backordering. The number of domains I bring in a day have gone down, but the quality of those domains has gone up. :D

Me too, now I tend to reg around 10-20 per day and keep/delete them based on traffic levels, and often I feel I should keep more. I tend to only keep ones which I think could potentially net $xxxx+, or which should pay for themselves in ppc in under a year. I am constantly trying to get more into the cctld market but don't have the resources yet for finding the best ones.
