.mobi Estibot doesn't like longer Mobis

but has anyone noticed that Estibot has a huge disparity on mobis vs/ .coms if you have a mobi with over 5-6 letters?

weddingtoasts.com <------> 74,000 $


does 90$ sound right to anyone? it seems that some decent keyword/typein mobis seem to sell for a bit better than 90$ ......

For the most part multi-word .mobis sell much worse than single word .mobis.

Exceptions apply -- like the ones you listed or names like RealEstate.mobi, but very few 2 word combinations will see $1000+.

I have registered a lot of dog breed names like basenji.mobi , havanese.mobi pomeranians.mobi etc etc.These names where valued at one stage by estibot with rather great pricing. Now last time i checked a few week ago, estibot tells my they are only worth reg fee.

I bought kittens.mobi last week on sedo and estibot gives it a value of $37,000 and the com is values at 1.9 million according to estibot.
Now I have another name stuffed.mobi [ sorry adult} that has steadly improved in value to be now worth over $2000- according to estibot.
I think that this early into the mobile internet the value of mobi names is unknown.

It just proves that estibot is as much use for assessing dotmobi names as an ashtray is on a motorbike!

Estibot is at best a novelty turn when it comes to mobi names...

Lets think here.. weddingtoasts.mobi? what kind of developed site would go on that domain? Potential end user? I think that a $90 appraisal for that domain is quite high! IMHO, it is hard to find value in a .mobi that doesn't have a solid development usage (like the other .mobis you gave as examples).

the whole thing is like completely random...

i would say $90 is high for weddingtoasts.mobi as well.... thats actually what i meant in this case.. as a domain by itself, i wouldnt value it at even 50 cents.

for fun, i checked a few NNN.mobi of mine.... it values the number 500 at $40 US... and 321 at $30 US... 420 is valued at $40 US as well.

its a silly game that has no real meaning for .mobi.... everytime i hear someone using any kind of appraisal service for .mobi, i start laughing and cant stop for days. actually, i feel bad for people that actually believe this kind of silliness.

I don't have a view on the value of weddingtoasts.mobi but I am curious as to why estibot gave it such a high rating as a .com?

Surely if there is the volume of search / type in traffic for the term then a mobile site could be very useful for those last minute preparations when the guests are at the reception & you need some last minute tips (you're more likely to have access to your pda than a desk top thats for sure..)

So I'd say $90 is potentially very low (in so far as if there is an end user out there it must be worth $500+) just for admob value alone (assuming the content was good)

As a sale to a fellow domainer; I simply wouldn't buy it.... so in that respect it is reg fee.

But don't get confused between the two values; just because hardly anyone on this forum wouldn't touch it for more than $20 it doesn't mean that you can't turn it into $1,000 with a bit of effort (& luck)

The value sounds high on both names to me, this isn't a good .mobi at all, too long and no real fit with the extension, it is a popular keyword and that is about all that can be said for it in .mobi in my view. Maybe it is worth $90 on a good day. Would have thought the .com is more in the 30k area.
