Country of Africa.
I appreciate everyone's opinion.
In what language? Seems Portuguese.
Welcome to the forum @JP.Silva
@Future Sensors , yes portuguese.
$0 for this one
The correct spelling is Eritrea
@gilescoley eritrea is if it's in english my dear. it's not because you don't know another language that it has no value. Eritreia is in Portuguese, "Eritrea" on Google, more than 3,000,000 exact results.
How do you write Brazil? With S or Z? In Portuguese it is written BraSil, in English BraZil, that's not why it's wrong my dear. sensible and plausible opinions are welcome.
Indeed, you have the correct spelling in Portuguese. In most parts of the world it is spelled differently. Is Eritrea a hugely popular destination country in Portugal or Brazil? You might want to ask yourself this question as a domainer, because you have to estimate who the potential buyer of your domain might be. Another factor is that the correct spelling (Eritrea.com) is a non-functioning website. @gilescoley has his doubts about the saleability and frankly so do I. If you register too many of these types of domains, it can be very difficult to ever recoup your investments. Nevertheless, I wish you good luck.
No need to patronise......you asked for opinions, not justification.....
Isn't it a dictatorship that has a horrendous human rights record? Also it is not a hugely popular tourist destination
The English .com spelling looks to be forwarding to some kind of scam
I don't like it - and Geo's are some of my favourite types of domains.......
@Future Sensors It's true, I agree. it's not really a tourist country and rather dangerous. Thank you for your opinion 🤝
@NickB Actually eritrea .com does a rather strange redirect. I also like geo domains. Thank you for your comment 👍
There are loads of countries that are spelt differently in different languages, but it doesn't make sense if Portuguese is not even one of languages used in Eritrea.
There is no commercial use for this name.
I share a similar view to @gilescoley
Thanks for sharing your opinion!
I understand where you're coming from in terms of popularity of the word, but remember one thing: the name should have a resale value. Someone really needs to want to have this name so badly so he is willing to pay hundreds and thousands for this. It's not just the number of google type-ins. Someone really needs to be obsessed with Erithrea (and written in Portuguese) to buy this name. That's why it's best to stick with English, as it's by far the most popular language in the world (again, business-wise that we are talking here). And stick to interesting subjects for business.
What you may want to try to do in this particular case is to contact Eritrea governmental sites and agencies, and see if someone is interested (explain volume etc, do nice pitch) for redirect purposes.
Small chance, but who knows?
@VadimK Iberica grateful for your comment. I liked the idea. thanks👊
Separate names with a comma.
