The overall design of your blog is very good. I like your talk bubbles; however, to spice up your blog, include other eye candy such as pictures for your readers. The orange on red is little hard on the eyes. You may want to change it to a color that stands out more. Either way, it's a nice design!

The layout is fast loading and simplistic, with good organisation.
To fill in the gap to the right of logo, maybe you could have a 'featured rant', or similar?
I think you've done very well with this design, by keeping it simple.
One suggestion, though: ever considered a RSS feed?
