Hey guys.
I find all the threads about End-Users sales and strategies extremely useful and interesting but i rarely see suggestions about the subject of the email we send to potential buyers.
Based of my experience (as email accounts holder), when you receive many daily emails, what you go to notice before to read or cancel them is the SUBJECT.
Emails with poor or spam-like subjects would be instantly deleted (also filtered in some cases) and it drastically reduces our chances to catch the attention of the potential buyer.
We need to find the "perfect subject".

Any suggestion?

I have been trying with "<site> website inquiry" where "<site>" is the end-user website (for example "BlaBlaBla.com website inquiry") but i'm pretty sure this subject is considered almost spam.

So need inputs ;)

If you're selling ComputerParts <dot> com (this is just an example), then just put "Computer" or "Computer Parts" as the subject line. It works for me most of the time.

Subject: Subject.com domain name inquiry! :yell:

Straight to the point, IMHO. :gl:
All the best,

1. use your own email not a temporary email like sneakemail or inbox.com or slopsbox.com making them known you mean business.

2. use your domain's email

3. subject:
I Want To Buy Domain.com
Interested In Domain.com
Money for Domain.com

Agree with Jeff - put the domain in question in the subject. If that's not enough to get them to open the email you're really gonna struggle to get them to actually fork out money for it!

Also include your phone number in the email at all costs.

Offer for <domain name>

I put their domain name in the subject line. They are much more likely to open the email I have found. If I was selling FishTacos.com and was emailing FishTacos.net I would put this in the title.

FishTacos.net - Domain Name Question.

I apologize for the misunderstanding, but i was meaning trying to sell and not to buy a domain name ;) But yes, i use my personal name domain for this kind of email.

I have received few consideration using this subject: "<end-user website.com> website inquiry" ... example if i own blablabla.com i use this subject with blablabla.net owners "BlaBlaBla.net website inquiry" .
In my opinion we should catch the attention of the end-users showing them how better or advantagious would be acquiring our domain name.
For example, "BlaBlaBla.net" is a medium company website, created on.. mmm 2001 by an external webmaster's company (most of company websites are made in this way). There could be multiple reasons for them to own the .net instead of the .com, maybe the company admin thought .net sounded better, or what else...
Since big part of company admins are kind of ignorant in internet knowledges, our intent should be to show advantages of using our domain name instead of/with their ones.
You have FIRST catch their attention with the subject and then.. well, then read the specified thread :D

FishTacos.net - Domain Name Question.

Yes, exactly what i mean.
But using "Domain Name Question" expression works? My sensation is most of the people doesn't know what a domain name is as well as they confuse the "domain" with the "website". "BlaBlaBla.com" wouldn't be the domain name BUT the website.
My opinion.

Awesome strategy, I am way more likely to open an email with one of my domains in the subject than someone else's. If I don't recognize something as being personal to me, I usually assume it is spam and delete it.

Well, it works for me and I do pretty good end user wise.

For months I've been using this subject line (similar to bmugford's):

For [person] - [their domain name] website question

So if their VP of marketing is named Jeff and their current website is LampPosts.net (and I'm selling them LampPosts.com), I write:

For Jeff - lampposts.net website question

My overall initial response rate is 13% across 5000+ e-mail pitches.
