Exact match domains..and people usually go after EMD's that have high search volume.. For example, WebHosting.com would be an amazing exact match domain since the term "web hosting" gets so many monthly searches.

What Is an Exact-Match Domain?
An exact-match domain is a domain name that exactly matches the searched keyword phrase of a user, and contains no dashes. For example, if you search Google for the keyword phrase “diapers,” then Diapers.com would be the exact-match domain name.

And EMD is either a single word like Insurance.com, a phrase like ReputationRepair.com, or a geographic location like LasVegas.com. Reputation-Repair.com and Las-Vegas.com would not be considered EMDs.

To understand EMD-s better you need to know that their value is 2-fold, one is obviously in the search engines and the other would be for customers to easily remember your website, for example roofrepairslondon.com would have value because it would be easily memorable to customers and in turn this drives the value of the domain up, to an end user.

The example I used is geo+profession but it is also an EMD.

Depends on the term. In some languages like french or german, the hyphen is part of the regularly used term, but those in themselves aren't too common. Some geos won't work though your right about that but again thats only if the hyphen is not part of the regular use of the term. For example Ildefrance.com vs the proper common use Il-de-France.com, You will see the format defined in the second term in advertisements, in books and online but not the non hyphen. Small niche but just a thought for those who dig a bit deeper than most.
