eMail Marketing Section

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
I'm starting this suggestion thread on behalf of @JB Lions and @rokoroko who expressed interest in a dedicated eMail Marketing section on NamePros.

Maybe, have a moderated outbound thread/section of the forum where it’s only people interested in outbound, learning best practices, what’s working/not working etc.

A place where it doesn’t get thrown off/trolled by people not interested in it or just think it’s all spam. The result would be learning, more sales, probably even new members, something all forums love.
Great Idea JB Lions!
It sounds good in theory, but will it garnish enough engagement?

There appears to already be a Business and Marketing section, do you think starting a dedicated thread in that section for eMail Marketing would work?

There also appears to be a General marketing and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) sub-section in the Business and Marketing section. Would that section be better to start a dedicated thread?

Or are you thinking a sub-section forum for "eMail Marketing" should be created under the parent "Business and Marketing Section"?

And if that's the case, would "General Marketing" need to be separated from "Search Engine Marketing (SEM)" since they are technically 2 different marketing approaches (Off-line versus online).

There's also an Affiliate Marketing and CPA Program section under the Business and Marketing section.

If a new section dedicated to "eMail Marketing" was added, it feels like the entire sub-section of "Business and Marketing" may have to get reorganized.

For instance, there's also a "PPC, CPC, CPM Programs" sub-section and a "Google Adsense" sub-section, which, Google Adsense is technically PPC, so it may need to be a sub-section of the PPC, CPC, CPM Program section.

Maybe something like (Option 1):
  • Business and Marketing
    • General Marketing (Offline)
    • Search Engine Marketing (SEM)
    • eMail Marketing
    • Affiliate and CPA Programs
    • PPC, CPC, CPM Programs
      • Google Adsense
Or something like (Option 2):
  • Business and Marketing
    • General Marketing (Offline)
    • Search Engine Marketing (SEM)
    • eMail Marketing
    • PPC, CPC, CPM Programs
      • Affiliate and CPA Programs
      • Google Adsense
Or something like (Option 3):
  • Business and Marketing
    • Offline General Marketing
    • Online General Marketing
      • Search Engine Marketing (SEM)
      • eMail Marketing
    • PPC, CPC, CPM, CPA Programs
      • Affiliate Programs
      • Google Adsense
There might be enough eMail related threads across Namepros that moderators could possibly move to such a section to get it started, but I guess the real question is, how many NamePros members seeing this thread would be interested in and participate in an eMail marketing specific sub section if there was one?

If I had to choose between the three options of hierarchy above, I would probably go with option 3, to separate offline and online into their own sections. I know i've written several off-line marketing articles over the years myself domain investors could leverage, so there has to be several other off-line threads on NamePros to get that section started as well.

I mean, if NamePros considers adding an eMail marketing section, might as well hammer out the reorganization of the hierarchy and separate sections that could be better targeted as stand-alones.

@JB Lions and @rokoroko - Do either of you have more ideas/thoughts based on your suggestion(s) for this topic?

Anyone else have ideas or thoughts to add about the suggestion?

I guess there are many ways to do it. Even what you posted, the affiliate marketing section, should be more active. People would probably make more money putting actual affiliate links on landing pages instead of the PPC stuff, which seems to be taking a hit.

Have no idea if it would be active. Maybe not, might take time. If the info posted leads to people making more money, it'll get active.

Maybe just a simple forum, let the threads happen organically, in the future if there are multiple threads, move them together or something.

Basic topics I guess would be:
lead generation
email templates, following CAN SPAM which is very basic. Accurate title/header, a way to opt out, name and address
where to email from, email service
use landing page or negotiate from email

whatever people want to talk about

The main thing is to keep the trolls out, it needs to be moderated. Someone come in and says SPAM, waste of time, apply the boot to them. A place for more active, go getter type domainers.

Some key things you may to consider:
- Stay away from keywords that will trigger spam (google it)
- The email should look more personal/professional and not a generic email that you will send to 1,000 people
- Stating that this is a one time email and you will not contact the receiver again unless they are interested in the name and discuss further
- Check the website and send to the people who can make a decision (President, VP, Director, etc...)
- Tell them to forward the email to the right person who can make a decision
- Briefly explain how the company can benefit from the name
Lastly leave your name and phone number at the end of the email after thank you them for taking the time to read the email

PPC is definitely taking a hit with the Google AFD shut-down. Entire marketing departments that were dedicated to that kind of monetization strategy are being laid off.

I believe a moderator mentioned in the past that the NamePros landers will eventually have monetization options added.

However, the NamePros landers can actually be monetized with affiliate links and banners right now, already.

You can see where I did that with some of my landers at NamePros here: https://www.namepros.com/threads/do...ander-monetization-generated-100-usd.1357435/

And how I formatted it here: https://www.namepros.com/threads/do...zation-generated-100-usd.1357435/post-9422532

With the above in mind, I think the Affiliate Section of Business and Marketing will eventually see an uptick in engagement once more people start to monetize their landing pages with alternate methods that are no longer able to leverage Google AFD options. ;)

Can I get a guide or not
I could probably hammer out an article/guide about that and put it in the business and marketing section. Then, if NamePros decides to create an eMail marketing section, I can report it to request it be moved to the more targeted section later.

It may be a day or two before I can get an article like that done.

There was actually a list of marketing tools shared here: https://www.namepros.com/threads/outbound-list-of-free-tools-to-help-with-outbound-sales.1352033/

And an AI powered marketing tool list here: https://www.namepros.com/blog/inbound-wont-save-you-heres-your-wake-up-call.1363789/comment-9465898

Not sure about fully-automated free options, but i can research those when i get around to writing the article requested above and reference all the tools and links to them there. ;)

Ok, I dedicated some time to this today to get the guide knocked out and the ball rolling (I put it in the business and Marketing section, I will report it later if NamePros decides to create an email marketing sub-section to see if they can move it there).

Here's a basic Guide/Discussion thread on email marketing with legalities + cold + warm-up domain related campaigns in mind: https://www.namepros.com/threads/email-marketing-best-practices.1364333/

Enjoy!

Hi

the chances of a sale for each of them, always depends on the quality of their respective domains.

logically speaking, the old timer is more likely to have better domains to offer and much more experience, so his names could virtually sell themselves. giving him lots of time to troll

meanwhile the newbie who doesn’t know jack from jill, nor what names to buy or how to write a proper solicitation without the help of gpt… has a better chance of a sale than the trolling old timer?

maybe their chances will increase after they finish reading that guide that yall gonna create

imo…

Yes, a newbie has a chance of getting sales if they do outbound. Maybe, old timers, instead of trolling, offering nothing but negativity, could find more useful things to do, like updating their sites so links don't go to:

Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site.
