Perhaps that's because selling ebay ID's goes against ebay rules:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/user-agreement.html

your eBay account (including feedback) and User ID may not be transferred or sold to another party

The exception I believe would be if you registered onto ebay as a business. If you sell the entire business, this could include a related ebay account.

Is there a reason why people are buying these? I've seen some other wanted ads. Is Ebay offering some kind of incentive to remove the id or something like that?

People usually want eBay IDs with high feedback to get buyers to buy the product faster than creating a brand new account with no feedback. I know I would purchase from high feedback account rather than a seller that registered yesterday. He doesn't ask for him feedback necessarily but I think that's the motivation.

I do not care if there is feedback, just matching domain name and ebay ID. Ebay has stopped allowing people to register a domain name as a user name/seller ID.

If you give up your ebay id, aren't you giving away your personal info, including your credit card number?

I have googlevoice.com and googlevoice as my ebay id but don't think I would want to sell unless I can remove my personal info from my ebay account.
